The Unknown 50km "Go Hard or Go Home" The 50-kilometer distance will test trail runners with three key elements: "speed," "endurance," and "downhill skills," especially on the descent from Doi Liam. The Unknown 50km is divided into two sections: The first 22 kilometers features Speed Trail sections, emphasizing an average pace of around 12 minutes per kilometer. It shares the route with the 30km distance before separating 3 kilometers before Mae Kong Ngon. The faster runners complete this section, the more time they'll have to rest before climbing "Doi Liam," the race's highest peak at 1,620 meters above sea level. More than half of the elevation gain, approximately 1,800 meters of The Unknown 50km's total 2,635 meters, is concentrated in the last 30 kilometers. After the Speed Trail in the first half, the route transforms into an endurance test with an intense climb up Doi Liam, which stands as a guardian peak of Doi Pha Khao, towering alongside Doi Inthanon. While the ascent to Doi Liam is challenging, the descent is more intimidating with its steep gradient, difficult footing, and loose surface filled with soil and rocks that make grip challenging. Though not as long compared to other ultra trails, The Unknown 50km demands readiness from almost every leg muscle. Come prepared and join us for The Unknown 50km this June, as late summer meets early rainy season, when the forest begins to turn lush green at My Home Trail 2025.
