


Mae Chaem District: Mae Chaem – Chiang Mai is considered a large district in Chiang Mai province, covering approximately 2,686.57 square kilometers. About 70% of the area consists of forests and mountains, 20% are foothill areas, and only 10% is flat land. The main river is the Mae Chaem River, or “Nam Mae Chaem” in local dialect. Mae Chaem district maintains relatively cool weather throughout the year, with an average annual temperature of 25°C, average maximum temperature of 31°C, and average minimum temperature of 20°C. Transportation: From Bangkok to Chiang Mai: approximately 700 kilometers There are two routes from Chiang Mai city center to Mae Chaem district: Route 1: Via Doi Inthanon National Park • Take Highway 108 (Chiang Mai-Hot route) • Turn right before reaching Chom Thong district onto Highway 1009 (Doi Inthanon route) • Turn left onto Highway 1192 to Mae Chaem district center • Total distance: approximately 120 kilometers (This route is shorter but considered as the Scenic Route. Highway 1192 is narrow and winding along steep mountain slopes) Route 2: Via Ob Luang National Park • Take Highway 108 (Chiang Mai-Hot route) • Continue past Chom Thong to Hot district • Turn right onto Highway 108 through Ob Luang National Park • Turn right at kilometer 22 onto Highway 1088 to Mae Chaem district center • Total distance: approximately 150 kilometers Source: https://mae-chaem.com/
